The input-maching perspective characterizes language development as an emergent process resulting from the interaction of the learning environment and general learning capacities. In this talk distinguishing features of the input-matching perspective are described and contrasted with other approaches to L2 development. Two kinds of input-matching models in the SLA literature, the Competition Model and connectionist simulations, are then examined. A key destinction is made between the approach as a theory of learning and as an approach to modeling. The scope of the models in accounting for L2 development is evaluated on the basis of this distinction.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Harrington, Michael"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Harrington, Michael","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-01-11"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"2011_3_iuj2_69.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.4 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"2011_3_iuj2_69","url":"https://iuj.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/853/files/2011_3_iuj2_69.pdf"},"version_id":"dfef9411-8412-44a9-aa6a-b940647980a4"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"input-matching models","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"associative learning","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"connectionism","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"the Competition Model","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"eliminativist models","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"SLA theory","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"conference paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_5794"}]},"item_title":"Figure and Ground in SLA Theory","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Figure and Ground in SLA Theory"},{"subitem_title":"Figure and Ground in SLA Theory","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10003","owner":"14","path":["297"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"1999-03-01"},"publish_date":"1999-03-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"853","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Figure and Ground in SLA Theory"],"weko_creator_id":"14","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-23T12:19:46.989253+00:00"}
