Exploiting age-specific exposure to this educational reform through the use of fuzzy regression discontinuity design, this study finds that on average, there is an increase of 0.536 year of schooling in for the cohort of women who had been affected by the policy. Moreover, the results of this study reveal that increasing education by one year reduces 0.829 child born per woman, and decreases child mortality by 1.659%. The empirical evidence supports that increasing opportunities for women to enter and complete secondary education can reduce fertility rates and cause a significant decline in child mortality in developing countries. \n","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Aung, Alice Jar Rein "}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1065","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Wong, Chun Yee "}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1066","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Aung, Alice Jar Rein ","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1067","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Wong, Chun Yee ","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"1068","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-06-02"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"EMS_2022_02.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"342.0 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"EMS_2022_02","url":"https://iuj.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/976/files/EMS_2022_02.pdf"},"version_id":"a248b6b5-3568-4e46-8d17-b7f2f92428c6"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"maternal education","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"fertility","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"child mortality","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"regression discontinuity","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"the Philippines","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"maternal education","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"fertility","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"child mortality","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"regression discontinuity","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"the Philippines","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"The Effects of Education on Fertility and Child Mortality: Evidence from the free secondary education policy in the Philippines","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The Effects of Education on Fertility and Child Mortality: Evidence from the free secondary education policy in the Philippines"},{"subitem_title":"The Effects of Education on Fertility and Child Mortality: Evidence from the free secondary education policy in the Philippines","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"14","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2022-04-15"},"publish_date":"2022-04-15","publish_status":"0","recid":"976","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The Effects of Education on Fertility and Child Mortality: Evidence from the free secondary education policy in the Philippines"],"weko_creator_id":"14","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-23T12:16:23.716945+00:00"}
