| 内容記述 | Based on the research and survey conducted by the Institute of South Seas at Xiamen University in China (Lin Jin-zhi, Jindai-huaqiao-touzi-guoneiqiyede-jige-wenti [Some Questions of Modern Overseas Chinese Enterprises in China], Nanyang-wenti-wencong [Colection of WorKes on South Seas Questions], Institute of South Seas, Xiamen University, No.1.1981. p.197-261), Overseas Chinese investment in Old China will be taken up in the following order: 1.Abrief history 2.The fundamental situation 3.The position and role of Overseas Chinese enterprises in the economy of Old China In this article, the first part - a history of the investment - will be presented briefly. The second and the third parts will be taken up in articles in the fbllowing issues. The history of Overseas Chinese investment in Old China can be divided into five periods: (1) beginning period (1862-1919); (2) period of development (1919-1927); (3) period of climax and then decline (1927-1937)； (4) period of stagnation and then destruction (1937-1945); and (5) period of recovery and then annihilation (1945.1949). | |||||
